Okay, so I was wasting time looking through Pinterest the other day and I loved a few of the things they had suggested to do for the new year to remember all of the good that happens in your life. So for the next little while, if you're reading this, I'll be posting positive things that happen day to day in my life. Now I can't promise that I'll post every single day, but I'll give it a whirl. So I'll start a day early because I had a lot of fun today.
The bishop of my ward invited me, my roommate, and a few other people from the ward to go snowmobiling with his family today. Originally, I wasn't going to be able to go because I had to babysit my niece and nephews. Shout out to my mom for watching the kids so I could go play in the snow. *Disclosure-I've never ridden a snowmobile before. I've seen them, but I'm really not a risk taker or adventurous person.
My roommate and I drove down to Fairview and then were driven to this ranch/cabin in the canyon. At first most of us were standing around, not sure what was happening or going on. The boys then started taking a bunch of girls for a ride. When it was finally my turn I was really nervous because I saw those things slide across the snow and heard the squeals of some of the other girls. I went with one of the bishop's sons and he asked me slow or fast. I told him to go in between. He was slowly guiding along and I told him he could go a little faster. When we were done I was shaking in a good way because it was a lot of fun. (Thankfully, I didn't squeeze him to death although I'm sure it felt like that). Then a few more girls switched out with some of the other guys riding. Bishop then had a rental that the girls could take out and play with. After about an hour, I was able to go again with a different guy from the ward. I'd seen how fast he'd been taking the other girls and pretty much told him to be gentle. He surprisingly went slower than the first time I went and I told him that he could go faster. He wanted to punch it and told me to hold on for my life. I screamed a ton and felt bad for screeching in his ear, but they were good/fun screams because I was having a great time and he was careful. We ate lunch and then went back outside to play some more. Bishop set up this huge water tube and started pulling people around in the snow from his Raptor. A few of the other girls went first (this raft could hold 4 people). Then I decided I wanted a turn. I got on and one other girl did too and we laid on our stomaches and pretty much ate snow the whole time from the powder that kept blowing up in our faces. When we were done, I stayed on for another ride and went with two other girls and the same result happened. Morgan, my roommate, and I went to ride it and we were on our knees almost the whole time. We even tempted fate and switched places with the tube was in motion, trying not to fall off. We laughed so much! I got to drive one of the snowmobiles with another girl for a few minutes, which was fun. When we got back and were all sitting around, another boy in the group asked if we wanted a ride. He was a dare devil kid and I told him I'd go if he was careful. He promised to be careful and he was a freaking liar! He made me scream the most and not in the I'm having fun snowmobiling way, but in the I feel like I'm going to die or pee my pants kind of way.
My long winded story is just to sum up that I had a ton of fun! I'm so glad I was able to go and that I enjoyed it as much as I did. I'm going to try and post positive things on here about my day. So stay positive, look for the good. I know it's there and this was such a great day!!
